Adoption is the process of transferring the ownership and associated liability of the highways and sewers to the relevant adopting authority, in this case, Swindon Borough Council.

Part of the adoption works identified by Swindon Borough Council is extensive footpath resurfacing throughout, along the block paving adjustments and some vegetation to be cut back. We are scheduled to start work on Thursday, 31st July 2025, with the planning and resurfacing works taking place from the 11th to the 15th of August 2025. Please refer to the enclosed plan for our surfacing areas shown in red.

Please note that between the 11th and 15th August, there will be times when access and egress to your property may be reduced. Should you need to leave or access your property while the team are working in the area, please flag down an operative, and they can safely guide you to your property.

Due to the nature of the works, traffic management and diversions will be implemented where required throughout the development, and the flow of traffic may be affected at certain points. As there will be a workforce within the carriageways of your development, it would be greatly appreciated if you could drive with caution around the working areas.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would politely request you avoid parking in the areas shown in red on the enclosed plan. However, please note that this is a critical step in the adoption process which once achieved will have numerous advantages.
