New Climate Crisis Committee at St Andrews Parish Council

Introduction to St Andrews Parish Council’s Climate Crisis Committee

To all St Andrews Parishioners.

The Government has brought to our attention that a “Climate Emergency”, has been declared nationally.

We, the St Andrews Parish Council, are taking this very seriously. We feel we should take a second look at everything we do or purchase, to check if it complies with helping climate change and does not go towards destroying our planet.

To this end, we have set up a new committee to investigate what we can do better as every little change will help.

Our first Climate Crisis Committee will be held at Redhouse Community Centre, Frankel Avenue, Swindon SN25 2GY on 3rd July 2023 at 7 p.m. I would like to invite any parishioner who shares our concerns to attend this meeting, to help us formulate a plan as to how our parish proceeds from here.

My kindest regards,

Cllr Vera Tomlinson, Chairman for St Andrews Parish Council

A few words from the Chairman of the Climate Crisis Committee

It’s a great pleasure to have been elected as the Chairman of the Climate Change Committee. We started our green journey several years ago and we have since then, started several projects to help fight climate change. Having this committee in place, will allow us to focus more on this subject.

We may be a small parish, but we can still play our part. As we move forward toward our first meeting, I encourage those with an interest in the subject or anyone that has any ideas, to come forward and attend our meeting or contact us directly. We want our community to play its part and help guide us on this journey.

Cllr Daniel Adams, Chairman of the Climate Crisis Committee
