North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson officially opened the refurbished Wallis Drive play area on Saturday 27th August to fifty eagerly awaiting children.

St Andrews Parish Council put on the special event after spending £50,000 to revamp the run down play park to include several pieces of inclusive play equipment. A new double slide, basket swing, roundabout with space for a wheelchair and MUGA (multi user games area) have been installed and existing climbing frame, swings and equipment have been repainted which are very popular with the local children.

Children were treated to ice creams, drinks and sweets (courtesy of Sutcliffe the play equipment installer).

The event was well attended and the local children gave an unanimous thumbs up to the new play park, promising to continue to use it.
