St Andrews Parish Council is saying a fond farewell to Dave Plimmer, who is retiring after an impressive 21 years working in grounds maintenance in the local area.

Dave joined St Andrews Parish Council six and a half years ago, having previously worked for Swindon Borough Council. Since joining the Parish Council, Dave has been a valued member of the Grounds Maintenance team and a familiar face around the parish.

From gang mowing and planting trees to chain sawing and the many jobs that come with looking after our green spaces, Dave has played his part in keeping the parish looking its best.

His knowledge, experience and willingness to get stuck in have made him a valued member of the team. Much of the work carried out by the Grounds team happens quietly in the background, but it makes a real difference to the places residents use and enjoy every day.

To mark Dave's retirement, colleagues at St Andrews Parish Council gathered for a tea and cake celebration to thank him for his years of hard work and to wish him well for the future.

Luke Jones, Operations Manager at St Andrews Parish Council, said:

“Dave has been a great member of the team and his experience, knowledge and hard work will be missed. He has never been afraid to get stuck in and has always been willing to take on whatever job needed doing.

“Dave has spent 21 years working in grounds maintenance in the local area, including the last six and a half years with St Andrews Parish Council. That is a fantastic amount of service, and he has certainly earned his retirement.

“On behalf of everyone at St Andrews Parish Council, I would like to thank Dave for everything he has done and wish him a very happy and well-deserved retirement.”
